Updated: November 7th, 2008

Fresh off a fun filled 3-year campaign in which we pushed this amazingly fast and exhilarating 31' Offshore "David" against many of the Goliaths in sailing, we have decided it is time to move on and let the next generation of speed junkies and Coneheads take over.

We sincerely hope to find a buyer who wants to campaign the girl the way she needs to be run.. Don't miss this opportunity to own and race a proven offshore rocket whose resume includes Transpac, MoBay, 2 Chicago Mac, Newport-Bermuda races etc.  With Mobay and Transpac 09 just around the corner you can't afford to pass up the opportunity to purchase this great boat at a fraction of replacement cost.

Sail Away Price: $149,500

Here are some details:

She was built out of nomex carbon. We have run a comprehensive maintenance and improvement program which including a new balto-plate bottom and new non-skid deck in spring 2008. Sails are in good condition with a new #1, Code Zero and A2 monster kite built in the last 2 years. Instruments were upgraded to a 6 display NKE set up which is easy to use and maintain. Much of the run rigging including main halyard, main sheet, spin halyard, tackline all replaced in 2008. She will be sold with a trailer, which has new axels and wheels in 2007.

The boat will be sold with full Category 1 safety gear including 8-man liferaft certified through 2010 and new 2008 flares.

The boat is starting line ready for distance racing, and could easily be on the Mobay starting line in February.

Sailing Performance
The Cone's design captures the best performance enhancments of modern maxi's. These features are compressed into a light weight, fixed keel, 31.5 foot package.

The Cone sails up wind at 7 knots and has recorded downwind speeds in excess of 24 knots.

The Cone was well-sailed by its first owners, James and Jennifer Neill, and its offshore race record includes regular line finishes in front of a few boats a bit longer.
